AIFA: further investigations needed on second booster dose of COVID-19 vaccines
AIFA's Technical and Scientific Committee (CTS) started on 24th March 2022 the evaluation of the opportunity of a second booster dose of COVID-19 vaccines for particular categories of subjects.
Considering all the available data, the CTS decided that further in-depth studies are necessary, integrating international scientific evidence with data from ongoing studies in Italy.
The CTS reiterated that the completion of the vaccination cycle followed by the already authorised booster dose is essential.
