Independent Research: AIFA Calls for Proposals 2023
The AIFA Board of Directors, in its meeting of 29 March 2023, authorised the funding of two Calls for Independent Research in Oncology and in Secondary Prevention in cardio-cerebrovascular diseases, for a total amount of 10.5 million euros.
The purpose of the AIFA calls for proposals is to encourage research on topics consistent with the aims and objectives of the National Health Service, through the funding of studies of major interest for the health of citizens.
The first call will finance three clinical studies on therapeutic sequencing in oncology. The areas of investigation identified are hepatocellular carcinoma, non-small cell lung cancer and renal cell carcinoma. The aim of the call is to produce scientific evidence to define the best positioning and optimisation of the sequential use of available drugs to ensure the best clinical response.
The second call will fund three clinical studies on secondary prevention in cardio-cerebrovascular diseases in gender medicine. Study proposals will have to explicitly investigate gender differences in drug treatments used in secondary prevention of myocardial infarction, stroke or heart failure.
Applications can be submitted, from 12.00 on 22 May 2023 until 17.00 on 22 June 2023, exclusively through the IT platform and by filling in the webform available at the following link, active from 22 May: https://aifa.cbim.it.
