AIFA denies fake news: authorisations for anti-COVID vaccines remain valid
Press release n. 659 - AIFA strongly denies the totally false news according to which, after the authorisation by the Agency for the use of some monoclonal antibodies against COVID-19, the marketing authorisation for COVID vaccines issued by the EMA has been withdrawn.
This news, which is circulating on some websites and social networks, is completely unfounded: the authorisation for certain therapeutic indications of monoclonal antibodies by AIFA has no correlation with the authorisations for COVID-19 vaccines, which remain perfectly valid.
The Agency has filed a complaint with the competent authorities. The spread of this fake news, aimed at undermining the current vaccination campaign, must be stopped immediately.
AIFA reiterates that the use of COVID-19 vaccines is safe and effective and invites citizens to get vaccinated and to get information only through institutional and scientific sources.
