Toll-free number Farmaci-line: new service hours
With a view to meeting the citizens’ information needs in this period, we inform you that the Farmaci-line Service (Toll-Free Number 800 571661) has extended its service hours and is now available to users Monday to Friday, 9.00 am - 1.00 pm and 2.30pm - 5pm.
Please note that the Farmaci-line Service is not a health emergency number and cannot provide advice on the clinical problems of individual patients in place of the general practitioner. Therefore, we recommend investigating with a doctor issues such as, for example, any concomitant disease which could mean a priority access to vaccination or a contraindication; moreover, the Farmaci-line Service does not collect reports of adverse reactions, which must be reported to your general practitioner or in one of the following ways:
- by filling out the suspected adverse reaction report sheet (page accessible through the "Related links" box) and sending it to the Pharmacovigilance Contact point of your healthcare facility by e-mail or fax.
The contact details of the Pharmacovigilance Contact points are published on the Agency webpage and are accessible through the "Related links" box;
- directly online on the VigiFarmaco website (www.vigifarmaco.it) following the guided procedure;
- by sending the report sheet to the Marketing Authorization Holder of the drug that is suspected to have caused the adverse reaction.
Finally, it should be noted that the answers are provided to citizens by pharmacists of the Italian Medicines Agency solely on the basis of information obtained from official sources such as, in particular, the website of the Agency, the Ministry of Health, the Istituto Superiore di Sanità or the European Medicines Agency; news from sources other than the above cannot be commented nor clarified.
