Medical and scientific information
Through the disclosure of independent information, AIFA intends to promote safe and appropriate use of medicines, guiding the therapeutic choices of doctors based on scientific evidence (EBM) for the protection of patients. The aim is to stand out as the main authoritative source of news and updates on pharmaceuticals, both as regards the more strictly regulatory activities and those relating to fostering a new drug culture, based on ethics and transparency.
The Scientific Information Office deals with the verification and monitoring of the Promotional Materials submitted to AIFA by the Pharmaceutical Companies, in compliance with the provisions of Legislative Decree 219/2006 regarding Medical and Scientific Information.
Within the information tools that AIFA makes available to patients and healthcare professionals, the Independent Medicines Information Centre provides a series of explanatory documents that will be gradually published on the portal on specific topics; moreover, a direct communication has been established with users (patients and healthcare professionals) through the Farmaci-line Service.
